Please join us February 5th to
“experience sustainable health”
with wine tasting from local wineries,
a delicious meal made from local food and a cabaret of local entertainers.
You will also learn about WCC’s food guidelines and
be among the first to see the premier of the short documentary film
“The Challenge of Wellness – The Contra Costa Project.”
Our goal with “The Contra Costa Project” is to
eliminate obesity & Type 2 Diabetes caused by cheap processed food,
educate the community about simple and affordable healthy guidelines and
raise the consciousness about unhealthy processed food.
The mission of the Wellness City Challenge,
a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax id#261237876) is
to mobilize community resources to empower citizens to improve health
through nutrition education and physical activity.
Proceeds from the gala will benefit the
WCC’s education program and the “Contra Costa Project.”
Over the last five years the WCC, an action-oriented organization,
has been aligning local resources, laying solid groundwork and gaining recognition in
support of its efforts to improve health with nutrition education.
The gala is a must for
all county and East Bay leaders and stakeholders
concerned about health and wellness and future generations.
In the search for a healthy lifestyle, a helping hand can provide the support needed for success. A place to find nutritious, delicious recipes that follow all of the guidelines for eating healthy is a good place to start. Try some of these fantastic recipes at home and give yourself a headstart in living well.
